A Tribute to the 1965 Shelby Cobra
This contemporary cobra, built by Contemporary Classic Motor Car Company in Mt. Vernon, New York, is a remarkable replica of the 1965 Shelby Cobra chassis number CSX3045. Crafted with precision, it uses the original Cobra as the master tooling to create its one-piece fiberglass mold.
Faithful Chassis and Suspension
The round-tube ladder chassis and suspension setup are designed to be incredibly similar to Shelby’s originals. The rear-end features a rugged Jag/Salisbury setup, ensuring performance akin to the traditional Salisbury setups found in the original Cobras.
Powerful Engine and Authentic Detailing
Under the hood, the engine is an original cast-iron 427ci FE engine backed by a rugged Ford top loader gearbox. This Ford 427ci FE big-block engine is fitted with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock dual-plane aluminum intake, along with period-correct CNC aluminum brakes to complete the authentic look and feel.
